CLP: LANCE KEARNS LEGACY AWARD
Lance Kearns was born and raised in the small town of Avella, Pennsylvania. A life on the family dairy farm instilled in him a strong work ethic and a desire to avoid cattle. So, upon high school graduation, Lance, a lifetime member of the Disciples of Christ Church, attended Texas Christian University. In May of 2007, he became the first college graduate in his immediate family, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History. During his tenure at TCU, Lance was an active Fellow in CLP. He served on the CLP Steering Committee and spent many hours making CLP the program it is today. As a former CLP Fellow, Steering Committee founder and now TCU Alum, Lance continues to contribute to the success of the program. Because of his commitment, this award was created in his name to honor others who have demonstrated such a strong commitment to their Legacy project and the program. A passion for sports and a strong interest in the law led him to the Sports Law Program at Marquette University Law School. He recently completed a J.D. from Marquette and a Sports Law Certificate from the National Sports Law Institute at Marquette. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing various sports, cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams, and spending time with his wife, a fellow 2007 TCU graduate.
The Lance Kearns Legacy Award of Excellence will be given annually to the Senior CLP Fellow who has followed Lance’s example. Projects will be reviewed at the CLP Legacy Ceremony and the winner will be selected. |
